Share of Voice Calculator

Calculate your share of voice across tracked keywords — weighted by search volume and SERP position.

Share:
6 keywords · 3 domains

Comma, tab, or pipe separated. The first two columns are the keyword and its monthly search volume. Every column after that is one domain, and each cell is that domain's ranking position. Leave a cell blank when the domain does not rank.

How share of voice is calculated

Share of voice measures how much of the available organic visibility your domain owns across a set of keywords. It is not a count of rankings. A domain that ranks first for ten tiny keywords can still lose to a competitor that ranks third for one large one.

The calculator weights each keyword by monthly search volume and by the click-through rate of the position the domain holds. A position-one result is expected to win about 31.7% of clicks. Position two wins 24.7%, position three 18.6%, and the curve keeps falling to about 2.4% at position ten. Positions eleven to twenty earn between 1.8% and 0.6%.

Expected clicks = monthly search volume × position CTR. Your share of voice = your expected clicks ÷ the expected clicks of every domain in the table. A blank cell, a dash, or a zero means the domain does not rank, so that keyword adds nothing to its total.

Use a consistent snapshot. Pull the same country, device type, and date for every domain, otherwise the percentages compare different SERPs. Re-run the table after a content push to see whether your share moved, and check which competitor gained the points you lost.

The click curve is an industry estimate, not a Google number. Google does not publish CTR by position, and the real rate changes with query intent, SERP features, and branded demand. Treat share of voice as a directional metric for comparing domains on the same keyword set, not as a traffic forecast.

Everything runs in your browser. The pasted table is parsed locally and never leaves the page.

Reading the leaderboard

Your share of voice is the first domain in the header. Put your own domain in the third column to make the summary card point at it.

Expected clicks is the weighted monthly total. It is useful for sizing the gap between two domains, not for predicting analytics.

Keywords ranked counts the rows where the domain sits in the top twenty. A high share with few ranked keywords means the domain wins the valuable terms.
